What you need for the full paint collection:

You'll need WinZip™ to properly extract these zip files to maintain the the files & folders directory stuctures.

Download these zip files into a folder of your choosing on your harddrive. The order you install/Extract doesn't matter.Save the zip files in case you need to reinstall the sets at a later time.

1) The lastest paintcfg.ini and list document from the 1 zip file on the MPFirst page. The paintcfg.ini makes all schemes work from the remaining paint folder/file .zip files

2) On the WarPaints page: the 3 larger zip files toward the top plus any recent updates or additions of individual MP squad sets listed just below (or just download all the individual set zip files instead).

3) Aces~Historical Set: 1 zip file for all nationalities.
Highly recommended aces schemes that many pilots use.

4) Customs Set: 1 zip of custom non-historical schemes I've collected. Some find these relatively few schemes a bit too wild for their tastes and bypass this set, using the MP Default Set to cover those sq#s involved for a more historical look in MP.

5) MP Default Paints: 1 zip,These skins display on planes in the game that are not using sq#s and most that you don't have MP Paint files for.Use of these files means you'll rarely see stock Dynamix textures on planes in MMP !:)

That's 7 zip files total for the entire community standard collection, not including more recent individual MP Squad Sets updates that may be listed on the WarPaints page.

How to install the zip files:

Gump also has an excellent page on installing MP Paint files at Gump's Spray Booth

Extract (Use folder names) each zip file to your RedBaron3D or RedBaronII folder. The files and (sub)folders will install automatically. This pic is of the 'Classic' interface in WinZip™

It's recommended you create a new folder named 'PaintOld' and move all your existing paint subfolders and paintcfg.ini file to that new directory before you install a new version or other's paint sets or paintcfg.ini.
This will act to clean out removed/changed folders and files. There are several squad sets, while "old" are still the most current available, and can use the existing subfolder(s), moving them back to 'Paint' from the 'PaintOld' folder.Once you are satisfied the new downloads are installed and working , you can then safely delete the the subfolders remaining in 'PaintOld'.
You can also have more than one Paint set , easily switched by remaning your Paint folder(s) this way !:)

!Warning! Unzipped ( Extracted ) , there are nearly 170MB of files in the whole collection , which because they are about 21,000 small files, actually use about 375MB of drivespace !.

Be sure you have plenty of FREESPACE on your hard drive !

If you allow Windows to manage your Virtual Memory (Swap file between RAM and HD) , I'd suggest 600MB freespace. If you set your own virtual memory , then you probably don't need this warning !:)

!Triple Warning! If you have an early Win95 FAT16 set up, these 1,000s of small files may take up 900MB+ of your harddrive space ! Win95b OEM can be installed with FAT32 and was in most new systems from Fall '97 foward.
